Episode #45: Finding Balance and Fulfillment in Your RevOps Career - Danielle Marquis
Chatting about unified RevOps, positioning your team internally, and finding your "happy place" at work
I'm the type of personality where I think I'll always be in a size of company where I get my hands dirty. I've done a lot of soul searching in the last couple years and I just want to focus on strategy and delivering on that.
Danielle Marquis
A big part of being successful at work is identifying what you actually enjoy doing—the activities that evoke energy and enthusiasm.
It’s easy to see your career path as a linear progression from IC to manager to director to VP. But climbing the cursus honorum isn’t for everyone.
And even if you DO want to be an executive, there’s a huge difference between being a VP RevOps leading a team of 10 at a 300 person company and one leading a 50-person org for one business unit at a 10,000 person company. They are not the same job.
So finding your “happy place” is critical. But as this week’s guest mentions, it can sometimes take a lot of self-awareness and soul searching.
This is one of the big take-aways from my chat with Danielle Marquis, a seasoned RevOps leader. She shares insights from her 15 years of experience in the field, discussing how RevOps has changed over time and how the role is increasingly being positioned as a critical function within organizations.
We also dive into the best practices for structuring RevOps teams, prioritizing work, and aligning internal strategies for maximum impact.

This November, MOps-Apalooza is back in sunny, Anaheim, California, and it's going to be the marketing ops event of the year, packed with hands-on learning from real practitioners.
This is the only truly community-led tech-agnostic MOPS conference out there. It's got the best speakers, the best networking, the best social events, and maybe even a trip to Disneyland. This isn't your 50,000 person tech company conference. It's an intimate gathering of folks who are in the trenches every day.
Registration is capped at 700 attendees, and tickets are going fast.
