Episode #43: Taking the Pain out of GTM Systems Enablement - Dan Giovacchini
How to NOT get pinged on Slack about how to create an opportunity ever again
Software enablement can be a thankless task. Consider this scenario:
You roll out a new process or system change in our CRM, MAP, etc.
You need users to understand and follow this new process or adjust their workflow in some way.
You create documentation, hold training sessions, pop into team meetings, and cajole users by Slack to spread awareness of the new process.
The users just want to get on with their jobs and view your attempts to teach and train them as an annoying interruption.
That is…until they go to do something and are completely blocked by their lack of training.
So they start pinging you in Slack.
FIN
At about this point, your blood pressure skyrockets and you go vent to your peers about how users just won’t read documentation.
I’ve seen this play out again and again, and it speaks to something fundamentally broken with how we’re approaching digital process adoption.
Users don’t care about the information at all until they actually need to use it. At this point, the information becomes vital and relevant.
So why not just give them that information in the moment when they really want it? They’ll learn, they won’t bug ops, and everyone will be happy.
This is the premise behind Tango, a software training tool that delivers information in the flow of work.
Today we chat with Tango COO and co-founder Dan Giovacchini about why this is the better way, the trials and tribulations of founding a company, finding product-market fit, and much more.

This November, MOps-Apalooza is back in sunny, Anaheim, California, and it's going to be the marketing ops event of the year, packed with hands-on learning from real practitioners.
This is the only truly community-led tech-agnostic MOPS conference out there. It's got the best speakers, the best networking, the best social events, and maybe even a trip to Disneyland. This isn't your 50,000 person tech company conference. It's an intimate gathering of folks who are in the trenches every day.
Registration is capped at 700 attendees, and tickets are going fast.
